How To Perform A Sage Smudging Ceremony

The sage smudging ceremony is an ancient ritual that goes back to biblical times, even being in conjunction with cannabis use. It is a spiritual practice to cleanse the aura and your sacred space of negativity and unclean spirits. In this ritual, you will learn how to prepare, perform, and close the ceremony.

Some times to perform the ritual will be:

  • When you move into a new space, or someone moves in/out
  • When you begin a new job or start a new business
  • before and after a healing session or yoga
  • before prayer, mantra chanting, and meditation
  • after sickness or arguments
  • after returning home from crowded situations
  • before entering temple
  • before oracle reading, channeling or divination

While there are no “right or wrong” ways of smudging, we share with you today our particular way, to create a sort of egregore to maginfy the power of the cleanse. We at the Temple of Light believe in setting up our ways to last seven generations, just as the Natives.

You can use any of the four medicines or a combination of:

  • white sage
  • tobacco
  • sweetgrass
  • cedar (or palo santo)

Before performing the ritual you should have fasted for 72 hours and purified yourself. Perform the Rose Cross Ritual, LBRP, and The Interpretation of The Light Rituals. Next, you should meditate on the sage and the ritual at hand, to set your intent.

Your smudge can now be lit by match, and you have to make sure it is lit enough to stay ablaze for the entirety of the sage smudging ceremony. Placing your sage on the fireproof censer, take it up with the left hand and begin fanning with the feather in your right hand. (You never want to blow it out with your mouth, as that is believed to give away your life essence.)

Begin by cleansing the hands, so that you use them to heal. Smudge your being, beginning with the heart, so that you may use it to love and to heal. Then purify your senses, saying:

  • cleanse my mouth so that i may say the great words
  • cleanse my nose so that i may smell good things
  • cleanse my eyes so that i may see great things
  • cleanse my ears so that i may hear good things

Cleanse your hair (your antenna) so that you may recieve good messages. Cleanse your feet, so that you can walk uprightly. Now you may begin to cleanse the room, moving clockwise. There is no exact prayer or mantra, and you can use any one of your choosing. We prefer to use the Aramaic Lord’s Prayer or Psalms 51

18. TERM AND TERMINATION

20. GOVERNING LAW

These Legal Terms shall be governed by and defined following the laws of Luxtonia. ORDO LUX and yourself irrevocably consent that the courts of Luxton shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute which may arise in connection with these Legal Terms.

21. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Binding Arbitration

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Legal Terms, including any question regarding its existence, validity, or termination, shall be referred to and finally resolved by the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the European Arbitration Chamber (Belgium, Brussels, Avenue Louise, 146) according to the Rules of this ICAC, which, as a result of referring to it, is considered as the part of this clause. The number of arbitrators shall be twelve (12). The seat, or legal place, or arbitration shall be Luxton, American Republic. The language of the proceedings shall be Luxtonian. The governing law of these Legal Terms shall be substantive law of Luxton.

Restrictions

The Parties agree that any arbitration shall be limited to the Dispute between the Parties individually. To the full extent permitted by law,

(a) no arbitration shall be joined with any other proceeding;

(b) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be arbitrated on a class-action basis or to utilize class action procedures; and

(c) there is no right or authority for any Dispute to be brought in a purported representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons.

Exceptions to Arbitration

The Parties agree that the following Disputes are not subject to the above provisions concerning

binding arbitration:

(a) any Disputes seeking to enforce or protect, or concerning the validity of, any of the intellectual property rights of a Party;

(b) any Dispute related to, or arising from, allegations of theft, piracy, invasion of privacy, or unauthorized use; and

(c) any claim for injunctive relief.

If this provision is found to be illegal or unenforceable, then neither Party will elect to arbitrate any Dispute falling within that portion of this provision found to be illegal or unenforceable and such Dispute shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction within the courts listed for jurisdiction above, and the Parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court.

22. CORRECTIONS

There may be information on the Services that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, including descriptions, pricing, availability, and various other information. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to change or update the informationon the Services at any time, without prior notice.

23. DISCLAIMER

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN AS-IS AND AS-AVAILABLE BASIS. YOU AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES WILL BE AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
