Chakras – The Sacral Chakra
Sacral Chakra
The next chakra in the spectrum is the sacral chakra. The location of the energy center is in the sacrum. The sacrum is the last five fused bones of the spine, which seem to form a kind of pump. This area is correlated with the lessons in the right to feel. The orange energy is about connectedness and sexuality.
Some studies say that from 6 months to 18 months, the baby develops this center. The wisdom says that now that the Earthly needs are met, the Earth is dissolved into Water and the focus shifts from survival to creativity, intuition, and connection with family and tribe.
The color associated is orange, and is represented by the sun rising over the horizon and giving light to all life. When this energy center is damaged or blocked you might experience emotional and sexual discontent, sometimes even anti-social behavior.
How To Re-Energize Sacral Chakra
- Re-Connect
- Get Creative
- Meditate
- Slow Down
- Heal Broken Relationships
- Get Gold
Reconnect
This energy area is focused on connection with tribe, family, and the All. Reconnecting with nature, people, and your tribe are the keys to re-energizing this center. If you have been in monk-mode for quite some time, you might notice some fatigue, disease, or complete burn-out. It is pertinent to come back into the presence of the Now. If you are working non-stop, it’s important to stop and reconnect with nature and life from time to time. Getting sun and sitting by the water can help to tap back into life.
Get Creative
This area is focused on creativity and intuition, so any activities you can use to tap back in are going to be of the utmost of importance. Whether that be through art, problem-solving, or communication, find ways to express your true being. Maybe try journaling, puzzles, or practice math. These things are helpful in generating that creative flow, and getting back on track.
Meditate
Over-thinking, over-working, and over indulging can become taxing on the mind and of the spirit. I highly reccommend taking at least 15 minutes a day to just enjoy the moment, and not be so hard on your self. Just focus on your breath, and let life just unflod around you.
Slow Down
With life is as hectic as it is, start to make more time for yourself. Converse with the cashier at the gas station, say hello to passers-by, and pull away from your devices every once in a while. We are all connected, so make sure you take moments in time to show your appreciation to your brothers and sisters. Make order out of the chaos. Re-organize things that have gotten out of control. Clear your spaces – internally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Mend Relationships
Life being the way that it is, we tend to fall from one thing to the next, and then to the next. We have millions of open tabs, unfinished businesses and ideas, and goodbyes unsent. We tend to move from circle to circle, meeting new people – but we forget about those we had really great connections with. If you have any relationships you want to keep, take some time to mend. Forgive, say thanks, reconnect.
Get Gold
Gold and orange are the color band of this chakra. Seek out golden food and drink, and activities that radiate orange. One activity you might want to try is having a “penny party.” If you have any loose change, look up your pennies online and see if they have any worth. Study the history. What happened that year? Who held that coin? Imagine all of the places those coins have traveled and just marvel at how robust this life thing really is. This will help you tap back in, and realise there is a lot more to this World than just our life and it’s “problems.” This should help realign you and get back on track.
